Episode #61 Falling Back in Love With an Old Series | From the Author’s Desk

Sometimes, the stories we think we’ve finished… aren’t finished with us.

In this episode of Miles Beyond the Page, I’m going behind the curtain to talk about something I didn’t expect—falling back in love with a long-running series I wrote years ago: Dream Walker Series.

And yes—this episode is also about Kincade, the broody, controlled, quietly dangerous character who has completely taken over my brain, my writing schedule, and my emotional stability.

✨ In this episode, I share:

• What it’s really like revisiting a long fantasy series years later

• Why authors don’t love a series the same way at every stage of life

• How perspective changes character arcs, foreshadowing, and emotional stakes

• Why I’m updating the Dream Walker series now (and what that actually means)

• The surprising joy of returning to a story that feels like coming home

• Why certain characters refuse to let authors go

This is an honest, behind-the-scenes look at long-term storytelling, character obsession, and the deep emotional bonds that form between authors and their worlds.

If you’ve ever wondered:

• why authors revisit old books

• why some series evolve over time

• or why certain characters live rent-free in our heads

This episode is for you.
